Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales use tax returns for all states in which Celanese has nexus.
- Process tax payments to appropriate tax agencies
- Perform monthly review of & validation of taxability of high value items
- Responsible for monthly / quarterly / annual on-time reconciliation of sales / use tax accrual accounts
- Work with plant personnel and subject matter experts to identify opportunities to claim refunds
- Assist AR, AP and other business units in resolving sales & use tax related issues, including OneSource and other tax engine issues
- Maintain tax calendars, records, and files
- Obtain, review and maintain customer exemption and resale certificates
- Prepare month-end correcting journal entries
- Prepare and review annual unclaimed property filings
- Assist with managing state and local sales & use tax audits
- Lead special projects as needed
Qualifications :
Education / Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related
- 5-6 years of US multi-state, sales tax compliance experience, preferably in manufacturing
- Canadian Indirect tax compliance a plus
- Working knowledge of ERP systems a plus SAP, BCS preferred
- Tax engine experience(OneSource a plus)
- Blackline solution experience a plus
