How You Will Help Us Make a Difference - In this role, you will have the opportunity to help us with connecting community members and groups with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County (BGCMC) to support youth and families.
This role involves managing relationships, cultivating support, and overseeing the volunteer program. The VCRM must be dynamic, strategic, organized, and experienced in community outreach, youth development, and non-profit operations.
Enhances BGCMC's community presence and reputation as a high-quality youth service provider. Builds and sustains relationships with individuals and groups to enhance community support and involvement in BGCMC's mission.
Provides stewardship for community partners and guide staff in relationship management.
- Fosters long-term community commitment linked to impactful services. Strengthens existing partnerships and cultivate new ones through events, outreach, and other activities.
- Participates in civic groups to build and strengthen network for BGCMC. Establishes strategic partnerships with local organizations, agencies, and schools.
Leads staff outreach efforts.
- Collaborates with Development and Marketing teams to sustain support and maintain positive media relations and social media.
- Serves as a liaison between BGCMC and the community to facilitate volunteer projects. Manages recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers for various programs and events.
Identifies volunteer opportunities and ensures a positive experience for volunteers. Maintains volunteer records and oversees the screening process.
Provides volunteer management training to Club staff and ensures compliance with background checks. Oversees volunteer activities, providing feedback, coaching, and guidance as needed.
Organizes volunteer appreciation events in collaboration with the Development team.
- Evaluates and refines volunteer activities to ensure satisfaction and effectiveness. Implements policies and procedures for volunteer engagement and participation.
- Prepares monthly and ad hoc activity reports and other documenting efforts and events.
Essential Job Requirements :
- Pass a Level II Background Check
- Four-year degree from an accredit college or university or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of five years of work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization, planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of teens.
- Leadership and management experience in youth services, family support or K-12 educational setting.
- Proven enthusiastic, positive attitude and effective communication skills and style.
- Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal and relational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Products, Outlook, and internet navigation.
- Valid driver’s license
- First Aid & CPR Certification or the ability to obtain these certifications.
- Experience as a youth development professional. High level of energy, flexibility, and work ethics.
- Comfortable performing multi-faceted projects with day-to-day activities.
