Audit Director - Non-Profit

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage comprehensive audit engagements for non-profit clients, ensuring deliverables meet client and industry standards.
- Coordinate with clients to prepare and review financial statements and audit-related documentation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, providing expert advice and support on financial reporting and compliance issues.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff, from junior auditors to senior managers, fostering a positive and educational work environment.
- Identify and address areas of risk and opportunities for improvement in client's financial processes and controls.
- Participate in business development activities to help the firm grow its non-profit client base.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and standards in the auditing processes.
Minimum Position Qualifications :
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience in a U.S. based CPA firm.
- Current or recent experience at a Senior Manager or Director level specializing in the nonprofit industry.
- A proven track record of excellence in auditing and leadership.
- Strong technical acumen with a deep understanding of non-profit accounting standards and principles.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex financial information in an understandable way.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with Big-4, national, or large local CPA firms is highly desirable.
- A CPA certification or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and grow teams and client accounts simultaneously.
- Proven success in business development and client relationship management.
- Knowledge of and experience with financial software and audit tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
