As the R&D Testing Engineer, you will report to the R&D Manager, producing and overseeing the execution of test plans to ensure proper protocols are followed in all experimentation.
You Will :
Develop test plans to validate in-house prototypes and for the review of 3rd party technologies
Design experiments for proof of concepts and reduction of technical risk associated with new technologies
Design and build test fixtures. Work with department lead to determine timelines, costs, and deliverables
Oversee testing to ensure procedures are being followed. This will include direct performance of wet chemical analysis and execution of test plans.
Coordinate with the Lab Manager to ensure all resources and equipment are available to support the testing. Develop new chemical formulations or methods of analysis.
Follow standard operation procedures to prepare the formulation, e.g., chemicals , synthetic water.
Describe and record all experimental process, data, and results in specified forms (electronic form) with accuracy and responsibility.
Manage all external testing by the department. Author and oversee authoring of test reports. Select and set up the required lab equipment for tests, experiments, and analysis.
You Have :
Bachelor of Science in a physical science, such as chemistry, physics, biology, geology , etc. and a Masters in Engineering
3+ years' experience in a laboratory analysis, experimentation, formulation, and instrumentation role.
Understanding of laboratory and analytical techniques
Understanding of test methods and design of experiment
Experience in wet chemical analysis, e.g., pH, TDS, Titration, and water analysis using spectroscopic instruments, e.g., ICP-MS, spectrophotometer , etc .
Experience in chemistry formulation
Knowledge of proper safe handling / disposal of chemicals and ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
Knowledge of water quality testing instrumentation
Understanding of statistical analysis to assess experiment validity and report results
Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and / or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include : close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment :
Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
