LEVEL / POSITION : DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
REPORTS TO : CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
POSITION SUMMARY : The Director of Finance is responsible for supervising the operations of the accounting and financial reporting function of the District.
This position ensures the establishment of appropriate control procedures; ensures compliance with generally accepted governmental accounting standards and Florida Department of Education rules and regulations;
and is responsible for coordinating the financial and operational audits of the Auditor General and other external auditors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : L-Light Work Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds frequently, and / or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
WORKING CONDITIONS : Indoors / Outdoors The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :
Education Master’s degree with specialization in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and designated as a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Government Finance Officer.
Experience :
Five years experience in Accounting or School Finance with successful experience in progressively increasing leadership roles.
Computer Skills :
Basic understanding and knowledge of use of current technology, as required for the position.
Certificates and / or Licenses :
- Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
