SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Systems Engineer II .
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
Job Summary : SEACORP's Imaging Business Area has an immediate opening for a Mid-Level SystemsEngineer or Engineering Technician with a solid background of Submarine ImagingSystems from an end-to-end’ perspective.
Job Responsibilities Include :
- Submarine Imaging system testing, faultisolation, and installation oversite with concentration focused onhardware.
- Position requires candidate tobe well versed with electrical / electronic test equipment such as O-scopes andDigital Volt Meters with the ability to read and interpret schematics anddrawings.
- Radio Frequency (RF)experience a plus.
- Assist in the troubleshooting / fault isolation ofImaging systems using available documentation to the Lowest Repairable Unit(LRU) and expected to provide emergent troubleshooting, defect isolation andfault repair of imaging systems and components at Subbase Groton and offsitelocations.
- Required to review the Interactive ElectronicTechnical Manuals (IETM’s) and Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRC’s) ensuring technical accuracy for each Tech Insertion (TI) both upcoming and in operation.
- Expected to be able to familiarize themselves with all Imaging system hardware including understanding commonality between the various systems.
Qualifications :
Education : A Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering isrecommended. Inlieu of educational criteria, significant technical work experience such asactive-duty military or prior work in this area is acceptable
Experience : 3 years of Systems Engineering experience.
Ideal Skills and Experience :
- Experience working in a Naval Base / Shipyard environment and know the typical requirements to perform work on boats such as MOA’s, WAF’s, SOP’s and tag outs as well as experience with Fleet casualty reports (CASREPs) assisting with support and track to closure.
- Knowledge of Engineering Change Proposals (ECP’s) and Engineering Change Instructions (ECI’s) as they relate to the Submarine Imaging systems and performance of necessary maintenance, test, repair, modification, and updating of shipboard equipment and components per GFI drawings as called out in the ECP / ECI’s.
- Experience with AN / BVY-1 (V) Imaging Naval Imaging systems and / or AN / BLQ-10 a plus.
- Excellent communicationskills and able to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and wiringtables.
- Must be able to useO-scope / Digital Voltmeter.
- Softwareexperience with Linux, C++, Oracle, JAVA, & HTML a plus. Experience withFiber Optic a plus.
- Able to work in a fast-pacedenvironment and well versed in Microsoft Office Suite Software.
