Overview
Trade Finance & Lending (TF&L) is a primary business division within the Corporate Bank specializing in comprehensive financing solutions for every stage of our client's trade value chain to support their foreign and domestic cross border trade activity.
Within TF&L, the Distribution team is a global pillar responsible for the origination, structuring and end-to-end delivery of all hedging / de-risking activities associated with trade finance facilities across traditional documentary trade solutions, working capital solutions, natural resource finance, and export credit / development agency finance.
Currently an exceptional opportunity exists to join our Distribution team in New York. As a Distribution / Syndication Specialist, you will have a critical dual role in (i) supporting the distribution of trade finance assets to various investor classes, from strategy to execution and (ii) originating new trade finance related opportunities in the primary and / or secondary markets for active participation by TF&L.
This is an opportunity to work in a global team with hubs in New York, London, Germany, Dubai, India, and Singapore.
What You'll Do
- De-risk, syndicate, and / or underwrite, through the primary and / or secondary markets, all applicable Trade Finance & Lending asset classes including but not limited to letters of credit, guarantees, supply chain finance, receivables finance, distributor finance, inventory finance, asset-based finance, working capital loans, pre and post shipment finance, reserve-based lending facilities, borrowing base transactions, export credit / development finance agency backed facilities and other commercial Trade Finance transactions for Deutsche Bank's clients in the Americas.
- Build, develop and maintain strong investor relationships with Private Risk Insurers, Reinsurers, Institutional Investors, Banks, Fintech, Non-Bank Financial Institutions and Development Finance Institutions in the Americas region.
- Identify new business opportunities for TF&L available in the primary / secondary markets for active participation by TF&L and optimize applicable distribution strategies that may be required.
- Support creation of pitch-books, term sheets, presentations, pre-screeners, reports, and other deal related documentation that may be distributed to senior management and / or potential investors.
- Create and maintain distribution status reports and transaction files for respective transactions within your portfolio.
- Execute any de-risking strategy as per prevailing internal approvals, policies as well as acting in accordance with prevailing key operating documents and external regulations (with specific focus on non-financial risks and business conduct).
Skills You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with proven experience in the banking, finance, and / or insurance industry.
- Working knowledge of the Trade Finance & Lending product suite, structures, and business proposition with primary focus on traditional documentary trade and working capital solutions, alongside natural resource finance and multilateral supported financings (e.g., ECAs and DFIs).
- General understanding of primary and secondary market de-risking structures, including syndication, risk participations, cash sales, insurance, credit default swaps, portfolio solutions / repacks.
- Understanding of the US, Canada and Latin American markets and macro-economic environments along with experience in managing strong relationship with various investors in region.
- Proven capacity and comfort to work with numbers alongside aptitude for understanding / reviewing hedging legal documentation;
strong written and interpersonal communications skills.
Strong IT skills with experienced knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
