About the Role

Job Title : Database Engineer (PostgreSQL)

Key Responsibilities :

• Certify and implement the latest PostgreSQL features and updates for enterprise use
• Conduct proof-of-concept (POC) executions to validate new features
• Collaborate with other operational teams to ensure smooth database integration
• Develop and follow standard procedures for database certification, modifications, and deployment
• Provide insights on database performance improvements and potential tuning needs
• Regularly communicate with team members and stakeholders on project status and database improvements
• Proactively stay updated on advancements in database technologies and best practices

Minimum Qualifications :

• 5-7 years of experience in PostgreSQL, serving as a subject matter expert (SME)
• Strong expertise in EDP / SQL within the PostgreSQL ecosystem
• Proficient in database operations : backup, recovery, patching, and restoring
• Experience in certifying and executing the latest database standards and technologies
• Solid background in on-premises core database development
• Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams (DB operations and Infrastructure)
• Knowledge of standard procedures, including building, deploying, and certifying databases
• Familiarity with AWS and / or GCP

Desired Qualifications :

• Basic knowledge or exposure to Linux and Unix
• Understanding of containerization and deployment applications (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Exposure to performance tuning and data migration processes
• Interest in learning multiple databases, not limited to PostgreSQL alone

Location : Phoenix, AZ

Salary Range : The salary for this position is between $110,000 $150,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography / market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
