Job Description and Duties

The Position is headquartered in Sacramento.

Under direction of the Caregiver Resource Unit Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) in the Supportive Services Bureau (SSB), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) performs a variety of functions intended to carry out the mission of the California Department of Aging (CDA) and provide leadership for Caregiver resources including the Title IIIE Family Caregiver Support Program (FCSP) to the Area Agencies on Aging (AAA).

The AGPA will also provide support to the California Caregiver Resource Centers (CRC), as well as support other ongoing CDA initiatives as it relates to serving California Caregivers.

The AGPA will work in a team environment and in collaboration / coordination with representatives from other teams and support staff.

The AGPA is responsible for sharing team leadership for the various team responsibilities including the provision of technical assistance, program assessment and compliance, program support, policy, procedures and regulations, and contract administration.

These responsibilities require the AGPA to participate in and support the vision, mission, and goals for the Caregiver Resource Unit and recognize issues that need to be brought to the team's attention.

The AGPA is a full participant in team decision-making, strategy formulation, and problem resolution.

These responsibilities require a high level of analytic and writing ability in addition to communication skills and a broad knowledge of Older Americans Act (OAA) programs, the Administration on Community Living (ACL), and other state and federal funding entities for older adults, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers.

Working Conditions

This position is hybrid and eligible for telework up to three days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed / required.

The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

The physical work location of the position is designated at the department's headquarters location, a three-story building and standard office modular workspace located in Natomas.

The duties of the position require sitting for long periods of time while using a personal computer, reviewing documents, and attending meetings whether they are digital (i.

e., Zoom, WebEx, MS Teams, etc.) or in person.

Statewide travel up to 25 percent as necessary.
