The RNA Research Division at New England Biolabs (NEB) is seeking an energetic, creative, and highly motivated scientist to lead an independent research group that focusses on discovery, characterization, and engineering of DNA-dependent RNA polymerases and their application to RNA and mRNA synthesis workflows.
This role will report to senior scientific leadership.
Primary responsibilities :
Initiate and manage a modern, independent research program, consistent with the goals of the RNA Research Division.
Manage and develop a team of scientists.
Publish scientific findings in leading journals and attend conferences.
Engage with Applications and Product Development, Manufacturing, Business Development, and Marketing teams to aid in the commercialization process for enzymes and reagents that arise from the research program.
Required Qualifications :
Ph.D. focused on RNA biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or molecular biology.
Minimum three years of postdoctoral experience with RNA research.
Proven leadership abilities in a multidisciplinary, team-oriented environment.
Excellent technical writing and oral presentation skills.
Formal training in, and demonstrated application of, bioinformatics.
Preferred Qualifications :
Expertise in recombinant protein purification.
Experience in enzymology methods.
Experience in methods development.
