SUMMARY
Is responsible for developing incoming inspection plans, problem solving, auditing, PPAP, APQP and driving continuous improvement activities with our suppliers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of productive components.
- Is engaged in measuring and testing product in receiving inspection and tabulating data concerning component materials and reliability.
- Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities for supplier quality personnel.
- Directs the activities of the supplier quality assurance program within the plant, including component part approval, supplier audits and quality improvements.
- Manages the supplier complaint data base, including logging complaints, supplier cost recovery, controlling further processing and closing complaints after verification of the effectiveness of corrective action.
- Leads the advance quality planning process (APQP) for component suppliers, including selection of vendors for packaging.
- Leads problem solving activities with both supplier and production teams to discover root cause and implement long term corrective actions
- Ability to work directly with MAHLE Customers to help support customer operations is required.
- Ability to manage customer / supplier needs / expectations and build a healthy working relationship with the customer / supplier.
- Travel will be required
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and / or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
