Florida LakeMonroe Hospital is a 221-bed acute care hospital. We serve the communities ofSeminole and West Volusia County.

Our program offers open-heartsurgery and interventional cardiology. Electrophysiology, cardiacrehabilitation, and comprehensive diagnostic services are also offered by thisprogram.
Other services that we provide include orthopedic and spine care, aswell as robotic surgery. We offer acute inpatient medical rehabilitation andcomplete imaging services.
Job Summary :
The Manager ensureshigh quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overalldailyfunction and staffing ofthe unit / department.
The Manager monitorsand evaluates the provision of nursing carein accordance with establishedpolicies / proceduresand holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support offacility objectives.
What you will do in this role :
Helps create a superior clinical identity by operationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
Ensures adherence to standards of care.
Supports efforts to reduce variation in clinical practice and improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost. Ensures a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care.

Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Ensures equipment maintenance is performed regularly and according to regulatory and / or accreditation standards.
Manages admissions and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
Facilitates effective interdisciplinary care coordination within and across departments. Ensures staff withappropriate clinicalcompetencies are assigned to meet patient care needs.
Manages nursing practice and unit operations. Monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing carein accordance withestablished policies / procedures to ensure patient and family needs are assessed and met.
Provides leadership inattainingand sustaining an unparalleled patient experience. Instills accountability for providing consistent, positive patient interactions that differentiate the organization as a healthcare leader.
Leads in a way that inspires commitment to the vision / mission / values of the organization. Implements evidence-based employee engagement practices.
Manages staff scheduling. Maintains staffingin accordance withpatient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
Managesoperatingexpenses, including theutilizationof supplies and equipment.Identifiescost reduction opportunities and implements actions to achieve savings.
What qualifications you will need :
1-2+ years of RECENT ACUTE CARE CVICU leadership experience REQUIRED (need recent leadership, ideally as a Manager or Supervisor, but will review Charge / ANM candidates).
Strongly prefer candidates having 3-5 years of Staff level CVICU experience on top of their leadership experience.
CANDIDATES MUST HAVE CVICU EXPERIENCE
NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour, or PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
Associate Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma
Registered Nurse, or Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)

- Oversees12 bed CVICU and 12 bed PCU and Telemetry (Central Monitor Unit) for the wholehospital
- About70-80 direct reports (includes Clinical Nurse Coordinators or CNCs, RNs, PCTs
- Staffing recently took a dip and has needs in both CVICU and PCU
- Patient experience looks good right now; employee engagement isn't stellar but is a focus for them right now
