Outreach Instructional Assistant II (Parker, AZ) Posting Number req20065 Department La Paz County Office Department Website Link Location Outside of Tucson Address AZ USA Position Highlights The Outreach Instructional Assistant II will assist the 4-H Agent in the implementation and evaluation of different 4-H programs in La Paz County and the Colorado River Indian Tribes Reservation.

The position is responsible for helping to improve 4-H educational activities. to promote on-going learning to youth, based on the needs assessment of the community.

The position will also help ensure that all programs are in compliance with all the University, and national and state 4-H requirements, as well as help improve program delivery and achievement of program objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assists the 4-H agent in implementing and evaluating 4-H programs based on identified needs of the local youth membership.

This would include recruitment and enrollment programs, implementing measures to create opportunities to increase participation of all youth with emphasis on tribal youth.

Assist the 4-H agent in the conduct of educational programs on livestock / small stock and poultry raising for participation in the county fair, and work with 4-H youth participants in county fair related activities.

Help in identifying and working with volunteers in different 4-H programs and activities, to ensure they are compliant with the requirements of the University and 4-H to work with children and youth, especially with the Zsuites registration of members and volunteers.

This will also include working with volunteers and youth during community service activities.

• Assist the 4-H agent in implementing activities for STEM programs, including volunteer trainings and summer youth camps.
• Assist the 4-H agent in the conduct of Shooting Sports and Sport Fishing programs for both tribal and non-tribal youth.

This will include, but not limited to instructing volunteers and leaders on the safety policies of the sport, recruitment, training of participants.

Also assists in procurement of equipment and supplies as well as in maintaining and safe keeping of the same.

Assist the 4-H Agent in fund raising activities to help raise funds for the various projects and activities of the 4-H program.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
