About the Closure Business
The Closure business safely transforms Rio Tinto's end of life mining, processing and infrastructure assets, focusing on remediation / reclamation, monitoring and maintenance, and long term post-operations use.

We have more than 100 legacy assets which require ongoing management. The objective of the legacy work is to ensure liabilities are understood, managed and minimised.
This requires detailed understanding of the potential exposures, remediation options, knowledge of the regulatory setting, and societal expectations.
Reporting to the District Manager Closure - Americas West, the Asset Manager will be accountable for several legacy assets and projects.
The incumbent will be tasked with charting a path to sustainable closure for the assets under their responsibility. They will draw on the support of various internal and external resources to achieve this outcome.
What you'll bring
A combination of skills and experience will be considered if you have :
- Technical knowledge of remediation and repurposing
- Operational and project planning, execution and financial management
- Business improvement mindset looking for efficiency and innovative solutions
- Experience managing teams of employees and contractors remotely
- Experience working with external stakeholders including communities and regulatory agencies
- A sound working knowledge of the occupational health and safety requirements relevant to conducting operations in a field-based environment
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and advice in the identification and mitigation of health and safety risks across multiple projects
It would be beneficial if you also had :
- English, Bilingual French / English (asset)
- Working knowledge of HSE management and Risk Management

We collaborate with all parts of Rio Tintoto focus onmaximizing post-operational opportunities, de-risking and reducing the scale of closure liabilities and executing existing and near-term closures at optimal cost.
