Job Summary : SUNY Brockport is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.

The person in this role will report to the Chief Diversity Officer (CDO). The Assistant Director for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion will be a forward-thinking and dynamic professional with the ability to support large-scale culture change initiatives.

Additionally, the assistant director will also work closely with the CDO to implement EDI related best practices. The ideal candidate must be a committed advocate for the advancement of diversity and equity, as well as a champion who fosters positive and inclusive learning and work environments.

The successful candidate will support university priorities and values, including community engagement, inclusive excellence, transformation and collaborating across divisions / departments.

Committing to the values of both the university’s Strategic Plan and EDI Strategic Plan, the desired candidate will take an essential role in relation to university-wide efforts focused on Building a Better Brockport. Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • 3-5 years direct experience in at least one of the following fields : diversity and inclusion, organizational development, higher education.
  • Experience implementing programming that includes educational awareness, training, and facilitation of equity, diversity, and inclusion subjects.
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Experience presenting to and facilitating conversations with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to understand, communicate, and represent the College’s values and mission and commitment to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, an ability to perform independently as well as collaboratively with a team, and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain discretion in highly sensitive or confidential matters.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • Direct experience in at least one of the following fields : diversity and inclusion, organizational development, higher education.
  • Experience implementing programming that includes educational awareness, training, and facilitation of equity, diversity, and inclusion subjects.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office applications Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

Work Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 am - 4 : 30 pm Salary and Benefits : The Minimum Salary for this position is $65,000.
