Overview
The Service Advisor is the first point of contact for supporting and servicing all our customer service needs. The Service Advisor will work directly with all customers calling into Milton CAT who are looking for Service.
The Service Advisor plays a critical role in understanding and documenting the customer's needs; including scope of work, equipment involved, identifying customer response time requirements, conveying Milton CAT policies and pricing among other information.
The Service Advisor role requires tremendous attention to detail, a consistently positive attitude and strong communications skills to create a consistent and quality customer interaction.
The Service Advisor does not schedule service calls or plan shop jobs but will be responsible for providing all the details to support the Service Departments that will be executing on these requests.
Responsibilities
Answering phones and receiving requests for Service
- Creating a service call with segmentation that accurately defines the scope of work required
- Review and documentation of all warranty, CVA and Product Link Connectivity information along with prior relevant service work to current repairs being pursued
- Publish the created service calls into the appropriate Service Supervisor's Schedule, shop or field or submitting for quote requests
- Provide customers with basic service call update information as is available based on scheduler information
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.
- High school diploma or (GED) equivalent, with college or trade school preferred.
- Ability to effectively lead, influence and communicate with others both internally and externally.
- Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to handle changing priorities in a dynamic fast paced environment.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
Heavy equipment service / maintenance knowledge a plus.
