As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a vital role in the procurement process of goods and services for our company. Working closely with fellow purchasing agents and other departments, you will assist in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials necessary for our operations.
This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Day-in-the-life and Your Responsibilities :
- Assist fellow purchasing agents in sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for company operations.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their products and services.
- Obtain and analyze quotations from suppliers, negotiate terms and pricing, and make recommendations to fellow purchasing agents.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and lead times to ensure efficient procurement processes.
- Coordinate with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs and requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with inventory management teams to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Assist in resolving supplier-related issues such as late deliveries, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in procurement to enhance purchasing strategies.
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding purchasing and vendor management.
- Provide administrative support to the purchasing department as needed, including generating purchase orders, processing invoices, and updating supplier information in the database.
