Responsibilities

The Global Fund Banking ("GFB") Portfolio Management team is responsible for managing all lending aspects for SVB's Venture Capital and Private Equity client relationships.

The team leads the loan analysis, structuring and approval process for new loan originations and is ultimately responsible for delivering the loan product to the client.

The team also owns the ongoing management and monitoring of the existing loan portfolio. The team is responsible for creating a seamless client experience while maintaining credit quality and profitability targets, understanding changing business needs and risk profiles of clients, and communicating this information and assessment to key stakeholders.

The core responsibility of the Manager - Portfolio Management is to enable and manage a highly efficient loan production process for the GFB Portfolio Management team.

The role will oversee and provide management for a team of GFB Portfolio Management Associates who are responsible for ensuring all loan approval packages are produced and booked timely and accurately and relevant processes and procedures are followed correctly.

The management responsibility will include training and resource planning to ensure the team is set up to produce high quality work.

The Manager will routinely collaborate with colleagues in GFB Portfolio Management and Credit partners to understand business needs and recommend various approaches, and also represent GFB in its partnership with other key cross-functional units such as Credit Product, Business Operations, Credit Administration and others .

The Manager must be highly organized with proven ability to achieve a strategic vision through detailed execution.

  • Set priorities, and identify gaps and upstream / downstream impacts

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 4-6 years of loan production experience or High School Diploma / GED and 8-10 years of experience.

Preferred Qualification :

  • Demonstrated team leadership experience with a focus on growth and development
  • Loan production software experience- ideally Ncino
  • Experience building internal processes and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead simultaneous assignments and produce time-sensitive results
  • Ability to take ownership of and drive processes and projects, but also knows when to escalate, delegate or engage others
  • Ability to strategically prioritize multiple workstreams
  • Works collaboratively with various stakeholders
  • Ability to manage and provide guidance to other team members, enabling them to show improved efficiency and effectiveness
  • Skilled at business problem identification and resolution
