SUMMARY

The Engineering Administrator is responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing the documentation workflow in the engineering department.

This position also facilitates communication both internally is externally acting as the hub of communications in the department.

The position requires a self-starting, highly organized individual, with a high degree of attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain information in the MRP system including uploading drawings, documentation, and provide updates to instructions or data
  • Work with engineering to create and maintain the standard operating and work instructions ensuring that version control is maintained at all times
  • Manage the Engineering Change Order system Create Engineering changes, route through appropriate departments and follow them to completion
  • Maintain and support the Quoting system - Organize quote information and work interactively with customer service and engineering in resolving issues.
  • Manage the Engineering and Customer Service Metrics boards. Provide feedback on trends and interactively work on improvements
  • Issue requests, communicate, follow-up on and maintain the Requests for Information system (Supplier Requested Information systems)
  • Provide ideas and work interactively with the engineering and customer service team to improve quote accuracy and speed
  • Scheduling meetings, attending meetings and maintaining notes or agendas as needed
  • Perform other duties as required by the Engineering Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in manufacturing is a preferable and ideally in a production or technical department administrative role
  • Strong organizational skills and coordinate efficient workflow in the department.
  • The ability to influence others to uphold deadlines
  • Maintains a professional working and team building environment with colleagues both internally and externally
  • Problem-solving skills with adaptability to ever changing deadlines and requests,
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint -Advanced Excel or Database knowledge a plus
  • Familiar with the workings of a MRP system - knowledge of Syteline a plus
  • Ability to compare Engineering Drawings to distinguish the differences
