Position summary : JMT is seeking a Senior Architect in the Washington, DC area for an exciting opportunity to work with the federal government.

The position provides architecture assistance for design and construction projects using knowledge of design principles and practices to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate and execute.

The annual salary range for this position is $120,000.00 - $150,000.00.

Essential skills and responsibilities

  • Experience providing professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects
  • Experience performing as a consultant in the establishment of design standards and criteria for construction projects
  • Experience providing on-site field survey measurements and verification
  • Experience preparing space and stacking plans
  • Experience with computer-assisted design software such as Revit, and Sketch Up

Required Skills

  • Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic. Willing to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Required Experience

  • US Government Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture
  • 10 years’ experience as Architect in commercial / government office building design and construction

Preferred Experience

  • US Government Top Secret security clearance
  • Architecture license
  • Experience working with governmental agencies at the federal, city, county and state levels
  • 20 years’ experience as Architect in commercial / government office building design and construction

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking.

Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
