Electrical Design Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Engineer / Controls and Instrumentation Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network and communications configuration, software compatibility, PLC programming, graphics design, and ladder logic configuration.
Additionally, expertise in major equipment power monitoring, switch and patch panel design and programming, and historian integration is crucial.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the configuration of network and communication systems from inception to design completion and testing.
- Ensure seamless integration of communication protocols and systems across various platforms and devices.
- Evaluate software compatibility, manage upgrades, and conduct PLC programming and testing.
- Develop and implement efficient programming solutions to optimize equipment performance and functionality.
- Design and develop graphical interfaces for control systems.
- Configure and test ladder logic programs to ensure accurate system operation and performance.
- Design power monitoring systems for major equipment within the plant.
- Oversee the procurement of necessary equipment and materials, and integrate systems into the plant infrastructure.
- Conduct integration testing and provide comprehensive reporting on system performance.
- Design and program switches, patch panels, and other related components for optimal system functionality.
- Ensure proper configuration and testing of these components to meet project requirements.
- Integrate historian systems with timestamping capabilities to accurately record and analyze process data.
- Utilize FactoryTalk software for system design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Leverage expertise in FactoryTalk to enhance system performance and efficiency.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Extensive experience 4 years in design engineering and controls / instrumentation roles.
- Proficiency in network and communication systems configuration.
- Strong understanding of PLC programming, ladder logic, and graphics design.
- Experience with major equipment power monitoring and integration.
- Familiarity with switch and patch panel design and programming.
- Knowledge of historian systems and data integration techniques.
- FactoryTalk software experience preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
