Inside Sales
Estimator position is responsible for taking off and pricing electrical projects in both New York and New Jersey markets.
The position reports directly to the Vice President of Switchgear and routinely interacts with customers both internal and external.
Responsibilities :
Costing and quoting or Confirming receipt of orders from clients
Order write up of house accounts
Communicating delivery schedules to customers
Acquire purchase orders for products and services ordered.
Follow up on proposals and drive sales
Record retention, filing and retrieval of documents
Make outbound calls on new customers, communicate leads to Sales Manager / Management
Perform follow-up with the customer after delivery to evaluate customer satisfaction. Present data to Management.
- Attend industry events and make joint sales calls, when needed (occasional basis).
- Estimating and preparing proposals on time
- Support outside salespeople
- Handle incoming sales calls.
- Training and assisting on specs / sizing via system.
- Searching and gathering better pricing on outside purchases
- Continuing education on product
- Work 3 days a week in NYC office
Education and experience
Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year or to-year college or university; or two to five years' related experience;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Customer-facing or customer-service experience is strongly preferred
- Switchgear experience is strongly desired.
- Past project management or estimating experience with a licensed electrical contractor will be strongly considered.

- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to self-start, work without supervision, exercise good judgment and decision-making
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with MS Office
- Attention to detail, including the ability to manage projects to the customer's expectation
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints
- Knowledge of electrical systems is desired
