Position Summary :
The Safety & Compliance Manager will lead the development and execution of operational strategies to meet company goals for safety, quality, productivity, customer service, and cost efficiency.
This role is responsible for fostering a culture of safety and compliance across the facility, ensuring strict adherence to occupational, environmental, and operational safety standards in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Safety Leadership : Promote a culture of safety and compliance at all levels of the organization by implementing and enforcing safety policies, accident prevention measures, and training programs.
- Strategy Development : Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop strategies that align with company goals in areas of safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Audit and Risk Management : Conduct routine safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness drills, addressing any issues with corrective actions to uphold a safe working environment.
- Incident Investigation : Investigate incidents and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and establish corrective and preventive actions to minimize future risks.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure that all operational procedures meet or exceed local, state, and federal safety, environmental, and health regulations.
- Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate records related to safety inspections, training, and compliance, and report to regulatory agencies as required.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience : Minimum 5+ years of experience in a safety, compliance, or environmental management role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Knowledge : Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements; familiarity with risk assessment and accident investigation processes.
- Skills : Proficient in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency response planning; strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Certifications (Preferred) : Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or similar safety certification.
- Soft Skills : Strong attention to detail, proactive in identifying and addressing potential hazards, adaptable to new regulations, and able to foster a safety-oriented mindset across teams.
