Position Summary : The Technical Training Coordinator creates and implements technical training packets for the Quality Steel plant operations for the West Jordan plant, ensuring team members are trained using a consistent method aligned with Standard Work and other Continuous Improvement methods.

The Coordinator will follow a Six Step Training process (Training Within Industry, TWI) and be responsible for tracking training and supporting onboarding and retention of team members across the plant.

The Coordinator works closely with operations and is a key part of the Continuous Improvement Team.

Key Responsibilities :

• Create and maintain site training packets for plant operations using a standard training packet.
• Train and certify trainers for the plant operations group utilizing a Six Step Training process (Training Within Industry).
• Create and maintain training / cross-training matrices.
• Support the creation or update of Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), Job Breakdowns (JB), and Single Point Lessons (SPLs) for CI and Operations to enable continuous creation of training packets.
• Oversee Technical Training Audit Program to ensure training is conducted to standard.
• Enter training packets into a database ensure training packet revision control.
• Support creation and maintenance of onboarding materials for standard operational processes and tools for new team members.

Experience :

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in developing technical training.
• Experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes preferred.
• Experience in the application of Training Within Industry (TWI) standard preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

• Ability to self-manage, prioritize, and work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts through various methods to various audiences.
• Ability to set and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Education and Certification Qualifications :

Associates degree in Manufacturing, Business, Communications, or similar field preferred. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.

Travel

Limited travel to other Quality Steel sites may be required.
