IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Civil Engineering Graduate - Designer 1 in our Missoula office.

As a Civil Engineering Graduate - Designer 1, you will work closely with a team of experienced engineersand consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes.

Primary responsibilities will include assisting in engineering analysis, design, field inspections,writing reports, preparing permit applications, site drainage & grading designs, and learning theCivil Engineering trade.

This position will be expected to work within the project's monetarybudget and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Perform basic calculations based on assignment i.e. hydraulic calculations, traffic projections,piling or rebar calculations, or calculations to balance site earthwork
  • Assist in designing water and sewer systems for smaller private and larger municipalsystems
  • Assist with grading and stormwater designs for commercial, industrial, and residential siteplans
  • Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicatetechnical information effectively;

Build and maintain client relationships through professionalcommunication

  • Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects; Assist inproject planning and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives
  • Assist with documenting design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring projectdesign progress
  • Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions. Collaboratewith senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions
  • Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutionsmeet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in civilengineering; Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
  • Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance in all aspects of engineering work and interpretstate and local design criteria and apply it to the specific project needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and projectmanagers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals

Required Skills / Abilities

  • Basic skills or knowledge with AutoCAD Civil 3Dsoftware and the ability to complete AutoCADtraining sessions as quickly as possible
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technicalplans and specifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals orgroups
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) License preferred
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25pounds
  • Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and graspor pull
  • Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
