Our client, a diversified Multinational Manufacturing and Transportation Conglomerate , is seeking an experienced Plant Controller to join their growing team.

The Plant Controller will assist with the overall integrity, completeness and accuracy of the financial results and safeguarding of plant assets.

Responsible for directly supervising members of the accounting group as required.

Location : Greater Sioux City Area, IA

Job Type : Fully In Person Role

Compensation : $100,000- $125,000 based on experience

Bonus : up to 50% based on performance

Relocation : Temporary housing and help with closing costs available

• Financial Statements and Reporting :
• The Plant Controller prepares timely and accurate financial statements and related reporting requirements.
• They assist in developing and maintaining a strong internal control structure to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Team Management and Communication :
• The Plant Controller leads regular team meetings to communicate key information and MEC (Month-End Closing) deadlines.
• They supervise members of the accounting group.
• Cash Management and Inventory :
• The role involves assisting with inter-bank account transfers to meet cash needs.
• The Plant Controller reviews records for outside warehouses and prepares and updates inventories for outside storage on a weekly and monthly basis.
• They engage in the weekly stock close process and calculate weekly sales overages.
• Additionally, they prepare weekly profit and loss (P&L) forecasts.
• Proactive Approach and Collaboration :
• The Plant Controller proactively identifies opportunities beyond the traditional sphere of influence.
• They work closely with operations to ensure the overall integrity of reported inventory.
• Regular inventory cycle counts are monitored, and processes for auditing inventory values are developed and managed.
• Qualifications and Skills :
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a four-year college or university is required.
• CPA is required
• A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience is necessary.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential.
• Mathematical and analytical abilities are crucial for applying accounting concepts.
• The Plant Controller must be adept at problem-solving and reasoning.
• Other Skills and Abilities :
• Proficiency in using personal computers and Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is expected.
• Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems is beneficial.
• Flexibility in work duties and the ability to establish effective working relationships are important.
