GENERAL SUMMARY :

The process technician position is responsible for maintaining and monitoring the operation of the department's injection molding machines.

Responsibilities will include set-up, process control and troubleshooting of the equipment, etc... Position will be responsible for ensuring the machines are producing quality parts through gauging and visual inspection.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Work with supervisors and leads on process job assignments based on production needs.
• Check press and mold conditions as required.
• Setup and run process according to ETS. (Engineering Technical Standards)
• Circulate, check and correct injection molding machine issues to ensure quality parts are produced.
• Monitor scrap of presses.
• Responsible for making sure mold PM (preventive maintenance) is met.
• Adhere to all shutdown and startup procedures.
• Respond to additional work assignments when requested and perform all essential functions in a timely manner under typical production schedules.

Performing essential functions means - at a minimum - being able to perform the above tasks as well as the Specific Exertional / Physical Requirements labeled "essential" herein.

Special Skills / Requirements :

• A working knowledge of hydraulic, electric, and pneumatic systems is required.
• Basic knowledge of Polypropylene, ABS, PPC, Acrylic, and Polycarbonate materials is required.
• Experience in troubleshooting injection molding machines and parameter knowledge
• Must be able to determine extent of correctable parameters and working knowledge of Tool & Die function in relation to production.
• Must be familiar with bridge crane's functions, chillers, and robotic equipment.
• Working knowledge of resin granulators, dryers, and Motan vacuum loading systems is required.
• Must be willing to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Must possess written communication skills which includes recording and verification of process conditions, oral communication skills, as well as mathematical skills.
• Have effective communication and active listening skills in individual and group situations.Ability to provide clear instructions or information, and be receptive to new ideas, suggestions, or special assignments.
• Adaptability to change priorities to meet changing production demands, and ability to adjust quickly to new responsibilities and tasks.
• Emphasize and demonstrate high work standards to others in the areas of productivity, quality, safety, teamwork, and attendance.
• Facilitate the development of a small technical team by providing training, guidance, and feedback to help them reach goals.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision, and exhibit good organizational skills.
• Must be capable of becoming forklift certified.
• Must be able to work in close and confined spaces as well as high locations.
• Ability to utilize the maintenance and tooling work order system.

Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Technical Knowledge preferred, Pursuing Technical Degree Preferred
• RJG Master of Mold I or equivalent a Plus.
