The Regulatory Analyst is a member of Kinder Morgan’s Rates and Regulatory department and will be based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the preparation of permits, applications and compliance filings that are submitted to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for interstate pipeline related projects and activities.
- Act as company liaison with FERC Staff, company personnel, other agencies’ representatives during various phases of a project including the pre-filing process, the pendency of an application at FERC, the construction of a project and during post construction compliance.
- Participate in the development and implementation of outreach plans including preparation of Order 609 notifications and coordination with Governmental Affairs actions.
- Review and comment on environmental reports prepared in compliance with NEPA and FERC guidelines.
- Additional responsibilities will include classifying / reviewing / tracking smaller-scale projects and preparing annual construction reports and other reports (e.
g. Form 567, Peak Day Capacity) that are required by FERC.
- As needed, responsibilities will also include researching company historical records and online regulatory / legal databases to inform regulatory strategies.
- Maintain excellent internal controls and work with internal staff to improve consistency and efficiency of internal processes.
Position Requirements
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or similar quantitative discipline.
- Prefer work experience with regulatory work in a natural gas or electric utility industry environment.
- Proven communication and presentation skills, oral and written, with ability to tailor to a variety of audiences both internal and external to the company.
- Team orientated and ability to organize / prioritize multiple tasks is a must in order to successfully meet project deadlines and coordinate appropriate resources.
- Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with the ability to identify and resolve complex / sensitive regulatory issues.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
