This key leadership position is responsible for overseeing and directing all financial and human resources functions, ensuring financial health and operational effectiveness.

This role provides strategic financial leadership, drives HR initiatives, and contributes to the overall growth and development of our client.

What will you be doing :

  • Develop and execute financial strategies, budgets, and plans to ensure the Council's financial sustainability.
  • Oversee all financial operations.
  • Complete taxes and audits annually.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare financial materials for the CEO / President, as well as for regular meetings of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.

These materials include related resolutions, financial reports, and summary of reports.

  • Analyze financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial statements and disclosures.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive organizational goals and
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and manage financial models for new initiatives and growth opportunities.
  • Lead the HR function, including managing staff payroll and benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, performance management, and talent development.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that comply with employment laws and best practices, updating and distributing the employee handbook as needed.
  • Promote a positive organizational culture and ensure a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Our ideal candidate has :

  • Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools including Excel, QuickBooks and Bill.com.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance.
  • Strong ethical and professional standards.
  • Master's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial management and HR leadership.
  • Proven leadership experience in finance and HR, preferably within a membership-based association or nonprofit organization.
