JOB SUMMARY
The staff Radiologic Technologist Per Diem assists in the managing of the daily operations of the Radiology Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
- Participates in continuing education and performance improvement.
- Provides radiology services to children from birth to young adulthood and other patients as assigned
- Provides medical diagnostic radiography.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Educational Requirements :
Associate Degree required, or satisfactory completion of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
Licensure, Certification and Registration :
Current unrestricted license to practice in the State of Maryland as a Radiologic Technologist. Current CPR
Work Orientation and Experience :
Minimum two years recent experience, preferably in Pediatrics

- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively and courteously with patients, visitors and members of the health care team
- Performs radiologic examinations
- Use of computerized radiologic equipment
- Process exams including evaluating for technical quality

Other Requirements Specific to Assigned Area :
Ability to position patients, lift 25 pounds, walk, run, sit, stand, stoop, bend, reach, Push, pull and demonstrate manual dexterity, mobility, and visual and auditory ability to do this job.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Supervision Received :
Reports to the Director of Outpatient Operations and Clinical Services (RN).
Supervision Exercised :
None
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Directly interfaces with patients, visitors, physicians, and other members of the Health Care team
TOOLS / EQUIPMENT USED
All Radiology equipment to include portable x-ray unit, stationary x-ray unit hospital information system, fax machine, hospital printer, and telephone
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT / WORKING CONDITIONS
Regular or continuous risk of exposure to body fluids, infectious waste or blood borne diseases requiring the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to established protocol.
Occasionally subjected to irregular hours. Occasional stress due to emergency situations or multiple demands.
