Sentara Health is hiring a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for Sentara Obici's Emergency Department in Suffolk, Virginia!

Status : Full Time (40 hrs / wk)

Shift : Evening 1300-2130

Weekends : Every 3rd weekend

Holiday Rotation

Required qualifications :

3 years Pharmacist experience in clinical / hospital setting

For candidates who do not have three years pharmacist experience, may substitute a PGY-1 residency program PLUS one year of experience or completion of a PGY-1 and PGY-2 residency program.

Each year of residency is equivalent to 2 years of experience)

Virginia Pharmacist license

BLD - Bachelor's Level Degree

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) required within 6 months of hire

Will consider pharmacists not licensed in Virginia / NC due to relocation. Must have Virginia or North Carolina (applicable to location) license within 90 days of Sentara start date

Preferred qualifications :

Prior hospital experience strongly preferred.

Job Responsibilities :

Manages patient drug therapy in accordance with the medical staff approved clinical practice standards

Maintains current knowledge of drug use through continuing education

Serves as the primary resource for drug information within the hospital

Assures the appropriateness of all physician medication orders

Precepts pharmacy students as assigned.
