What You'll Be Doing :

As a Naval Architect II, you'll join a team that blends hands-on naval architecture with innovative engineering solutions.

You’ll work on a range of vessels, including steel, aluminum, and composite crafts, from 20’ to 250’. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience across the full spectrum of naval architecture.

Responsibilities :

Perform detailed engineering calculations using first principles and tackle design challenges with creative, practical solutions.

Support Project Managers in boat and vessel design, providing technical expertise to meet client needs.

Adhere to and improve our Engineering Standards and Procedures to ensure top-tier quality and efficiency.

Collaborate closely with engineers to document and solve complex design challenges.

Complete engineering assignments on time using standard industry software and processes.

Provide onsite engineering services to US Navy Combatant Craft Division (Code 83) at Little Creek Amphibious Base.

Required Qualifications :

U.S. Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.

At least 2 years of experience in naval architecture or marine engineering.

Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles, practices, and related technologies.

Familiarity with industry standards (BS / RINA / LR / ISO / USCG / ABYC) and regulatory requirements.

Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD and Rhino.

Strong skills in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications :

Advanced degrees (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in Naval Architecture or related fields.

Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.

Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).

Experience working in shipyards or boatyards.
