Overview
Plant Accountants will have reporting responsibility for specific manufacturing locations (to be determined). This will include the financial closing process as well as producing financial statements (income statement & balance sheet) with various forecasting and budgeting responsibilities at a plant level.
The Plant Accountant will support the Controller in development and improvement of processes / methodologies, cost reduction opportunities, as well as developing operational targets.
Responsibilities
The primary duties of a Plant Accountant include :
- Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.
- Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices.
- Responsible for financial closing process for multiple plant manufacturing sites.
- Provides day-to-day financial and operational support for sites assigned
- Performs manufacturing variance analysis.
- Responsible for auditing Plant Internal Controls in accordance with Internal Control Structure.
- Performs account reconciliations to the general ledger.
- Assist Plants with monthly forecasts.
- Works with Plants on preparation of annual budget.
- Reviews item standard costs for accuracy.
- Provides support to the auditors as needed (both internal and external).
- Other responsibilities include approximately 25% of this position’s time will be spent on business unit financial analysis and various special projects.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related required. A minimum of 6 months experience in accounting or finance required, preferably in manufacturing.
Plant Accountants are required to interact with other managers, employees, vendors, and customers. Therefore, the following skills and proficiencies are also essential requirements of the position :
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
- Computer usage and typing skills are essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

Compensation Statement
The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States.
The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
