Medical Technologist II

Lighthouse Lab Services has partnered with one of North Carolina's leading Healthcare systems and we are looking for Medical Technologist II's to join the team.

Shifts Available and Salary Info :

• Evening shift : Mon-Fri / 2 : 00PM - 10 : 00PM
• Salary : $25-$35 / hour depending on experience

Job Overview :

As a Medical Technologist Generalist, you will be responsible for conducting a wide range of laboratory tests and analyses on patient samples to provide accurate and timely information to healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities :

Sample Collection and Processing :

• Collect, label, and process patient samples in adherence to established protocols.
• Ensure proper handling and transportation of specimens to maintain sample integrity.

Laboratory Testing :

• Perform various laboratory tests, including clinical chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, and blood banking.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.

Quality Control :

• Conduct routine quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and precision of laboratory test results.
• Monitor and troubleshoot any deviations from established quality standards.

Documentation and Record Keeping :

• Maintain detailed and accurate records of laboratory procedures, test results, and quality control data.
• Prepare reports and summaries for healthcare professionals.

Compliance and Safety :

• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines in the laboratory.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.

Collaboration :

Collaborate with healthcare professionals, pathologists, and other members of the healthcare team to interpret and communicate laboratory results.

Continuous Learning :

• Stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and medical science.
• Participate in ongoing education and training programs.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
• ASCP certification or equivalent

Experience :

Previous experience working in a clinical laboratory setting is often preferred.
