The Account Assistant (AA) is the backbone and the foundation of the personal lines department. The AA works closely and collaboratively with the clients and internal service team to ensure service deliverables meet and exceed client and agency expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to) :
- Scan, label, and distribute mail that comes in via fax, email and USPS
- Prepare deposits for accounting team
- Issue ID cards
- Answer telephone and provides basic customer service including information on billing, coverage, and change requests
- Assist production unit in special projects related to sales and / or servicing
- Update Applied EPIC management system with all necessary database changes and utilize this system to produce change requests and suspense items in accordance to department timeframes
- Data entry, including endorsements, and basic client information from producer or customer
- Monitor and complete underwriting requests from carriers
- Prepare letters of explanation to insured to accompany policy documentation
- Follow up on late payments from customers and cancelation notices from finance companies
- Follow up and communicate with clients and adjusters regarding claim status and progress
- Assist production unit in development of new accounts
- Utilize word processing for proposals, certificates and ordering ID cards
- Prepare proposal, complete fact find opportunities, communicate with underwriting
- All other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements :
- Basic knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance coverage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to navigate vendor or agency management systems as applicable
- Proficiency in Applied EPIC or ability to learn this program
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat is a plus
- Ability to manage client needs and multiple tasks
- Good organization skills
- Attention to accuracy and detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a pleasant disposition
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
- Team player
Education, Training and Experience :
- High School or Associate Degree
- CO Property & Casualty License
The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $60,000 to $70,000 per year.
