Job Description :
Soliant is seeking a dedicated and skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate will work closely with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, facilitating communication between students, teachers, and staff.
This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that all students have equal access to educational opportunities.
Responsibilities :
- Provide interpretation services in educational settings, including classrooms, meetings, and school events.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support the educational and social development of students.
- Adapt signing style to match the students' communication needs.
- Assist in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
- Participate in professional development and training sessions.
Qualifications :
- Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (RID, NIC, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Previous experience working in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
