Annual salary : $50,.01 +

Job-related travel is Occasional. Must possess a valid driver's license.

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and three year of professional experience in business or public administration;

or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of technical administrative* experience for each year of the required bachelor's degree.

NOTE : One year of technical administrative* experience may also be substituted for one year only of the required experience.

Technical administrative experience would include highly complex clerical work gained under the direct supervision of a professional supervisor or manager.

Job Responsibilities

Reviews trends and makes recommendations in providing services and supports to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Oklahoma and nationally;

identify and implement emerging best practices into the activities of the Council.

  • Coordinates various planning and monitoring activities including the development of the State Plan, annual Program Performance Report, Invitations to Bid or Requests for Proposals, final project reports procedures related to planning and projects, and other reports.
  • Serves as a facilitator to Council State Plan Committee; and coordinates public input into the State Plan and activities.
  • Assists in the review of original and renewal grant proposals; monitors grants and projects for programmatic contract compliance.
  • Consults and provides technical guidance to Council grantees concerning program planning, implementation, marketing, outreach, reporting, evaluation, and quality improvement activities;

collects and analyzes data required to support the mission of the Council.

  • Assists in the evaluation of results of current efforts; conducts research to determine systemic short-term and long-term impacts.
  • Represents the Council in outside committees, meetings, task forces, etc. as assigned.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the service and support delivery systems in Oklahoma for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities;

to develop measurable action strategies and evaluation methods to address identified issues and concerns; and to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Knowledge in a working environment of accessibility issues for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities;
  • of best practices in providing services and supports to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities; of government organization and administration;
  • of research, program planning, and evaluation methods; of services and supports needs of Oklahomans with intellectual and developmental disabilities;

and of the primary federal and state programs which provide funding mechanisms for services and support for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Skill in gathering current, pertinent information and data about programs that provide services and supports for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities;

and in meeting planning and facilitation.

  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with diverse groups as a team leader, team member, and as primary support staff.
  • Ability to use superior communication skills, both oral and written, utilizing different communication styles and summarize key issues in a simple manner;
  • to present to diverse audiences, specifically racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities; to work on a diverse team and directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds;

and to consider the impacts of the work and perspectives of multiple communities in technical analysis and outcomes of a decision-making process.
