Die Setter/Auto Press Machinist - First/Second Shifts

Job Description

A manufacturing company is seeking Die Setter / Auto Press Machinists to join their team. There is an opening on both first and second shifts with overtime required.

Responsibilities :

• Inspect equipment, perform safety checks and maintenance on machines, get tools ready prior to use, and set-up Punch Press
• Review and understand work order packet and related information
• Schedule and prioritize the work orders and process steps to produce products
• Gather materials and use hand tools and measuring instruments
• Load coil, thread feed line, and adjust material straightener and feeder
• Align, set, and clamp die, install and connect lube sprayers, die protection, sensors, part and scrap conveyors or ejection chutes
• Adjust and verify punch press control settings
• Communicate with Production Manager and coordinate needs with Material Handler
• Remove scrap material and report product tools or problems
• Report labor time and part count on computer
• Perform in-process inspections
• Perform other duties as needed

Job Requirements

Qualifications :

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Must have previous experience as an Automatic Punch Press Operator
• Must have strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills
• Must have knowledge of and the ability to use micrometer, caliper, indicator, scale, etc.
• Must have the ability to set up and run press in a safe and efficient manner
• Must be able to perform first piece inspection
• Must have basic computer skills
• Must have strong interpersonal skills
• Must have a solid work history with no attendance issues
