Senior Director, User Experience
About the Team
This position will be a transformative role dedicated to cultivating a best-in-class user experience for all our customers.
You will join our product leadership team, reporting directly to our Chief Product Officer. In close partnership with Product Management and Engineering you will define and drive the execution of a multi-year strategy to support our product portfolio.

Our UX function is truly committed to our core value of #neverdone and continuously listens to the voice of the customer to iterate and design experiences that focus on our end users.
The team consists of 40+ moose (employees) across the globe. The function is responsible for defining design standards across our multi-product portfolio, visually designing a brand consistent interface;
driving user research and enabling adoption via user content.

In this role, you will :
Oversee the direction of our UX function, including leading the formulation and evolution of Rapid7’s user experience to be focused on aligning our multi products portfolio to truly be a singular click platform
Collaborate closely with our Product Management, Engineering, Operations and Product marketing teams
Serve as our resident design expert, with the ability to effectively communicate to multiple stakeholders, levels, audiences from a variety of technical and / or non-technical backgrounds
Build and inspire your team and help them understand the importance of their role as it relates to driving business results
Drive innovation for our products by clearly demonstrating how the UX strategy has delivered on driving customer adoption, enabling customer retention and attracting new prospects because of the ease of use of our integrated experience
Need to come to the table with a perspective but be willing to listen and adopt your perspective based on your ability to build strong relationships
Be an escalation point for team members and Rapid7 customers
The skills you’ll bring include :
10+ years of UX design, software design experience is a must
5+ years of experience in a leadership role
Proven track record of leading and building successful teams and scalable processes
Expert knowledge of UX design principles, tools, and ability to articulate the unique value proposition of our design strategy
Ability to develop storyboards, mockups and prototypes to effectively communicate workflow and design concepts
Passionate about setting goals and measuring success of your employee’s, team’s performance and product portfolio
Understanding of how to develop a cohesive strategy but having the ability to lean in and execute if needed
Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of UX design skills, successful delivery of complex projects that clearly shows the measurable outcomes on the user experience
Education : Degree in User Experience or Design (Bachelor’s minimum; graduate work preferred)
Nice to have :
Understanding of how team’s leverage agile and lean delivery methodologies
Recent and / or relevant experience in the security industry
Experience supporting a multi-product portfolio
