West Coast Trial Lawyers, a downtown Los Angeles law firm, seeks a discovery clerk with preferably 1-3 years of Employment Law experience or experience in a litigation department handling discovery.
The ideal candidate will have experience working as a legal assistant, paralegal, or case manager performing the following tasks :
Propounding and responding to discovery requests, preferably in employment law cases
PREFERENCES
- 1-2 years of experience handling employment law or experience working in a litigation department with a firm grasp of the code of civil procedure
- Paralegal certificate
- Knowledge of Filevine software
- Preparing trial binders / exhibit binders
- Drafting motions, oppositions, and replies
- Calendaring
- Training junior assistants / assistants
- Case management and correspondence with opposing counsel
- Experience drafting discovery and motions
- Experience helping a handling attorney with trial prep
