Position Overview : The schoolis seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to joinour team on a parttime basis.
The Occupational Therapist will beresponsible for providing therapy services to students with diverseneeds helping them develop the skills necessary for success in theeducational environment.
This role involves working closely withstudents parents teachers and other school staff to create andimplement individualized therapy plans.
KeyResponsibilities :
Assessment andEvaluation :
- Conductcomprehensive assessments of students fine motor skills sensoryprocessing selfcare abilities and other areas related tooccupational therapy.
- Use standardized testsclinical observations and input from teachers and parents toidentify students’ strengths and areas ofneed.
- Develop and document individualizedtherapy goals and plans based on assessment results.
TherapeuticIntervention :
- Providedirect occupational therapy services to students both individuallyand in groups focusing on improving fine motor skills sensoryprocessing and functional independence.
- Adaptactivities materials and environments to support studentsparticipation in the school setting.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate therapy strategiesinto classroom routines and activities.
Collaboration andConsultation :
- Workclosely with teachers special education staff and other relatedservice providers to support student development andparticipation.
- Provide training and resourcesto educators and parents to implement therapy strategies andaccommodations.
- Participate in IndividualizedEducation Program (IEP) meetings contributing to the development ofstudent goals and progress monitoring.
Documentation andReporting :
- Maintainaccurate records of student evaluations therapy sessions andprogress.
- Prepare and submit reports for IEPmeetings ensuring compliance with district state and federalguidelines.
- Monitor and document studentsprogress toward their therapy goals adjusting plans asneeded.
ProfessionalDevelopment :
- Staycurrent with best practices and emerging research in occupationaltherapy.
- Attend professional developmentworkshops conferences and training sessions as required by thedistrict.
- Share knowledge and expertise withcolleagues to enhance the overall effectiveness of theschool’s therapy programs.
Qualifications :
- Master’s degree in OccupationalTherapy from an accredited program.
- ValidCalifornia licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working with children in a school settingpreferred.
- Strong understanding of pediatricoccupational therapy including sensory integration fine motordevelopment and selfcare skills.
- Excellentcommunication interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of amultidisciplinary team.
Work Schedule :
- Parttime position with flexible hoursdepending on the needs of the students and the district.
- The specific schedule will be determined uponhiring.
