Production Manager

The Production Manager will work with the facilities operations team to achieve daily objectives and will monitor the critical KPI’s and production.
The Production Manager will implement the appropriate corrective measures to address deficiencies, utilizing continuous improvement techniques.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations and production to ensure the manufacture of both quality and quantity necessary to prepare for all shifts.
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement processes for continuous improvement of cost, quality, energy use and other key initiatives to support the business strategy.
- Coach, mentor and coordinate skills, learning and content development of hourly personnel, while implementing operating procedures.
- Establish process specifications and provide procedures for operational changes and operation of new equipment.
- Participate in customer complaint process ensuring corrective action in accord with ISO 9001 : 2015.
- Assist on off hours for paper strap manufacturing problems, trials, etc., including fill in for other department managers.
- Lead by example to promote and encourage employees to strongly commit to safety and GMP.
- Monitor all control procedures and propose capital improvements to the Director of Operations.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field; Engineering, or Pulp and Paper Science, or equivalent combination of education and industry work experience.
- Minimum of 7+ years working in mill operating / supervision experience. Preferrable corrugated paper / pulp mill / paper converting production environment.
- A minimum of two years as a supervisor or a position that required leadership responsibilities.

- Must be a good team player, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and conflict management skills.
- Weekend duty and on-call requirements.
- Must have the ability to travel within North America (air / land) and internationally.
