Position Summary We are seeking to fill the position of Project Manager to support major transportation and aviation projects in the metro Boston area.
Responsibilities include overall project management and coordination of activities for multiple projects simultaneously.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects through all phases in a project life cycle, from inception to close out.
Other typical responsibilities include following up on action items, attending meetings with the client and generating meeting minutes, assisting project staff (consultants and client personnel), developing and preparing progress reports and presentations, and performing other duties required to support the client and project.
This is a full-time role. The successful candidate will be assigned to the client office during construction and will be hybrid otherwise.
This individual will support the client in the following areas :
- Solicit Request for Qualifications (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for both design consultants and general contractors,
- Prepare, coordinate, and review consultant and / or general contractor RFQs / RFPs,
- Assist in coordinating and securing all necessary internal and external project approvals,
- Provide technical and professional assistance in ranking and evaluating proposals,
- Drive the contract and fee negotiation process for A / Es or GCs,
- Work in conjunction with the consultants during the design phase to ensure adherence to scope, budget, and schedule,
- Manage the consultant, contractor, and engineering services during the construction phase,
- Manage the various key stakeholders and project participants through construction and project completion,
- Provide supervision and technical guidance to assistant project managers, engineers, resident engineers, and support staff on assigned projects, and
- Assume responsibility for the project schedule and project budget, in tandem, through all phases of the project’s life cycle.
Position Qualifications
- Experience in design and build project delivery is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field required.
- 5+ years of related experience working as part of a project team is required.
- Experience in project design and construction elements is strongly preferred.
- Availability to work full time, Monday through Friday, as necessary, required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and understand plans and specifications, are required.
- Exceptional ability to remain organized and handle multiple action items simultaneously required.
- Proficiency in using MS Excel and managing MS SharePoint is required.
- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Teams required.
- Working knowledge of PMWeb or Procore preferred
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6 or similar software is preferred.
- Ability to pass a security background check required.
- Experience and working knowledge of the Massachusetts public bidding process and public bidding laws preferred
Additional Requirements Physical : Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
