DUTIES

Provide 2D / 3D Structural Design staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities include

design development, and generation of design output documents including but not limited to :

• Concrete buildings and foundations
• Structural steel for supports, platforms, and buildings
• Rebar detailing
• Steel detailing
• Preparation of fabrication drawings
• Review of vendor documents
• Commodity supports

Design services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be

provided by SRNS.

Work Hours : Up to a 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules including

5 / 8s (8 hour / day; five days per week), 4 / 10's (10 hours / day; four days per week), and 9 / 80's (9 hours / day,

five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday

has 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the

discretion of the Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education : An associates degree in a technical discipline and at least 10 - 12 years work experience or 12 - 16 years of practical work experience.

Position Specific : No additional requirements.

Experience / Skills :

Requires an in-depth knowledge of engineering systems, applications, calculations, materials,

construction methods, and relevant computer applications. Applies advanced principles and practices in

engineering to resolve problems identified by construction organizations in a timely manner. Continued

updating on new technologies and hardware in the industry is necessary.

Candidate must demonstrate 8 years of experience as a Structural Designer including experience with

structural detailing and design of building structures and commodity supports. Knowledge of 3D

structural modeling and experience using 3D Modeling using Hexagon's S3D software is required. Must

have working knowledge of National Codes and Standards for structural design.

Candidate must be able to perform field walk-downs of the job site for the engineering work being

performed. These walk-downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress,

walking for distances over a half mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, dressing out in protective

clothing.

Candidate must have the ability to produce quality documents with attention to detail.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Area Security Access : Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. An

active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected

candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Possession of an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years is preferred.

Previous SRS Design Engineering or DOE facility experience is preferred.
