Project Manager - Transportation & Installation

Transportation & Installation Project Manager required for a Major Offshore Windfarm in the Northeast.

Responsibilities :

Project Planning and Coordination : Develop detailed project plans for the transportation and installation of offshore wind components.

Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution.

Logistics Management : Oversee the logistics of transporting wind turbine components from manufacturing sites to installation locations.

Ensure timely and efficient transportation via ships, trucks, and other modes of transport.

• Installation Oversight : Supervise the installation process of wind turbines, ensuring compliance with safety standards, technical specifications, and project timelines.
• Risk Management : Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address issues related to weather, equipment failure, or other unforeseen events.
• Budget and Cost Control : Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective use of resources. Report financial performance and make adjustments as needed.
• Compliance and Safety : Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Promote and enforce safety protocols to protect personnel and equipment.
• Stakeholder Communication : Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and team members.

Provide updates on project progress, challenges, and milestones.

Quality Assurance : Implement quality control measures to ensure all components are transported and installed to the highest standards.

Conduct inspections and tests to verify the integrity and performance of installations.

• Resource Management : Allocate and manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize project efficiency and effectiveness.
• Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate records of project activities, including transportation logs, installation reports, and safety documentation.

Prepare and present progress reports to management and clients.

Requirements :

• 7+ years of project management experience in the field of construction, engineering, finance and / or management with a minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in project management.
• 4+ of those years MUST be directly in a Transportation and Installation Project Manager Role.
• Bachelor Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.
• Other Education : Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology.
• Experience in offshore wind construction, maritime construction, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
• Good knowledge of marine, mechanical, electrical, and controls system.
• Ability to travel (domestic and internationally) as required.
• Proficient with interpreting technical drawings, documents & management reports.
• Ability to lead and manage multiple work fronts.
• Currently GWO certified or ability to obtain certification.
• May be required to work in an offshore environment.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
