OVERVIEW :
The Accounting Director directs the establishment and implementation of an organization's accounting policies and procedures.
Has overall responsibility for assigned accounting operations and systems as well as associated analysis and report preparation.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assist in preparing and consolidating financial statements for global operations
- Provide GAAP mentorship for technical accounting and external financial reporting
- Monitor and improve internal controls
- Assist in driving standard processes across the global organization
- Providing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial analysis
- Assisting with the annual budget process
- Researching accounting issues for compliance with GAAP
- Ensure proper cost accounting standards are implemented across the organization
- Act as the lead finance person on implementation of ERP across the organization
- Drive standard master data across the organization
- Serving as a liaison to external auditors
- Assist in M&A activity
- Participate in special projects, system improvements or impromptu analysis
- Generate process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
- Backfill for the Controller when necessary
REQUIREMENTS :
- Strong analytical, technology, communication, and organizational skills.
- Five years of experience in accounting or finance, and public accounting experience is highly valued
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA) preferred
- Strong understanding of system implementations and ERP design preferred
- Understanding of cost accounting preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites
- Experience with Pivot Table and advanced Excel skills
- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work
- Commitment and ability to meet business deadlines
- Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
- Capacity to anticipate and pre-plan work
- Manufacturing experience preferred
