Kennedy Jenks is seeking an entrepreneurial Client Services Manager and Senior Engineer for a growing Facilities Engineering practice based out of Princeton, NJ.
The right candidate will have strong client relationships, an established resume and reputation within the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, team building and leadership capabilities as well as business development.

You will be part of a dynamic and successful environmental and engineering consulting practice that is involved in exciting and meaningful project work throughout our national footprint.
This unique role is a client focused technical expert within our Facilities Engineer Team serving chemical and pharmaceutical clients.
This role will provide engineering leadership on chemical and pharmaceutical industry projects but also have a strong influence on the overall development of existing and new client accounts.
You will provide consulting engineering services including Facilities Engineering expertise from conception through construction focused on industrial water and wastewater conveyance and treatment, HVAC, boilers, chillers, lift stations, lab modernization, SCADA and controls, and other building and facility systems that support chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Knowledge of design and construction requirements unique to the FDA-regulated pharmaceutical industry is desired. Engineering of manufacturing process equipment is not expected in this role.
Key Responsibilities :
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent client service and interact positively with clients.
- Experience supporting business development and sales to support growth.
- Lead the planning, design, management, and optimization of industrial water and wastewater treatment and other building and manufacturing support systems within the chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing process.
- Stay current with environmental regulations and ensure the facility's compliance with all relevant laws and permits.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies, conduct environmental audits, and prepare necessary reports and documentation.
- Be responsible for managing projects from the planning phase through construction and contribute to projects nationwide
- Engage the marketplace to identify new clients and projects and collaborate with and enhance our established team to pursue and win those opportunities.
- Leverage existing chemical and pharmaceutical industry relationships and KJ's local and national project resumes to expand service offerings.
- Utilize relationships, personal resume, and strategic planning skills to pursue and win work.
- Collaboration with internal leaders for strategic hiring and staff development.
- Lead strategic project positioning across your territory including development of key teaming partners, oversight of proposal development, and interview preparation.
- Project development oversight, including scope, schedule, fee preparation, negotiation, project staffing, and coordination of activities related to planning, design, and construction.
- Contribute to project delivery goals through managing projects, being a project engineer, or project team member.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, or similar engineering field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
- Experience leading the process design effort on Facilities Engineering projects for chemical and pharmaceutical clients.
- Strong technical knowledge of the industrial water and wastewater, environmental, and engineering / environmental consulting business.
- An entrepreneurial spirit, proven experience with business development, relationship building, negotiation, and client service management delivered with the highest degree of integrity.
- Strong writing, editing, research, and verbal communication skills.
- Target fifteen (15) or more years of relevant experience.
- Supervisory experience including management of small teams of staff and experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams preferred
- Travel to client and project sites for client visits / meetings and travel to other Kennedy Jenks offices will be necessary.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
