Logistics Coordinator
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the efficient and timely movement of goods from suppliers to customers.
This role involves managing transportation logistics, maintaining communication with carriers and clients, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. This is a Contract to Hire Opportunity located near Romeoville, IL.
Responsibilities :
- Coordinate and manage the transportation of goods, including scheduling shipments, selecting carriers, and negotiating rates.
- Track shipments and ensure timely delivery, resolving any issues that arise during transit.
- Maintain regular communication with carriers, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all logistics-related inquiries and issues.
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping and delivery documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies, including safety and environmental standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure adequate stock is available for orders.
- Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control procedures to minimize excess stock and reduce costs.
- Utilize logistics software and ERP systems to manage and track shipments and inventory.
- Generate reports on logistics performance, including delivery times, costs, and any issues encountered.
- Identify and resolve logistics issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics processes and increase efficiency.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with transportation providers and other logistics partners.
- Evaluate carrier performance and work with vendors to address any service issues or inefficiencies.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain coordination.
- Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems (, SAP, Oracle).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.

- Pay is $25-$33 an hour, depending on experience
