About this role :
This position conducts valuations of various securities for investment companies (hedge funds, BDCs, etc.). Such securities may consist of illiquid investments, such as bank loans, subordinated debt, and preferred and common equity in privately-held companies, as well as structured products.
Vice Presidents assist the Portfolio group leader on both a managerial and analytical level, and work with analysts to complete valuation assignments.
What you will do :
- Manage and work with analysts and associates to conduct relevant research to support valuations, including analyses of subject company valuation drivers, research on private equity and private credit cost of capital, research and analysis of relevant industries and end markets, and comparable analyses
- Gather and document pertinent data obtained through client interaction
- Build, modify and utilize financial models for discounted cash flow, guideline market multiple, market transaction and option valuations
- Work with management to build and maintain client relationships
- Start to identify and communicate potential engagement to management
- Manage and assist analysts and associates with valuation analyses and judgments to conclude fair value of relevant businesses and securities
- Prepare and review reports, and communicate results to clients
What you will need :
- 5-7 years’ of constructing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- CFA / ASA designation preferred. CAIA designation or progress towards is a plus
- Proven technical, analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills and
- Superior analytical capabilities are essential
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and handle dynamic, time-sensitive engagements in a team setting
- Strong work ethic and ability to work flexible hours around critical client due dates
- Current authorization to work in the United States
