The Quality Assurance and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management Systems at Tony’s Coffees and Teas, Inc.
This position assumes the role of the facility’s PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) and ensure compliance with certifications such as Organic, Fair Trade, Kosher, and GFSI.
They must actively promote quality and safety throughout the organization
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 6 years manufacturing industry experience and 4 years at a management level preferred.
- PCQI Certification. External training can be provided to the right candidate.
- Experience with Organic Certification.
- Experience with a GFSI audit scheme.
- Ability to work unattended and in various conditions.
- Self-motivation, ability to work independently, and within a team environment with strong follow-up, organization and prioritization skills and excellent attention to detail is required.
Requirements :
- Develop, Implement, maintain, and monitor Quality Management Systems.
- Develop and maintain a GFSI program in collaboration with the Production Manager.
- Maintain certifications such as Organic, Kosher, Fair Trade and other regulatory certifications.
- Perform internal audits and manage corrective actions.
- Perform routine quality checks of all products.
- Communicate with management about any issues that arise.
- Ensure Good documentation practices are trained and implemented.
- Maintain a high level of organization.
- Ensure proper safety protocol is followed in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Lead a well-managed safety committee, enhancing awareness of work-related safety issues, providing a forum for the discussion and resolution of those issues, and fostering communication between employees and management.
- Partner with HR to administer OSHA 300 logs as well as injury / accident reporting.
